Creative Expressions Therapy is excited to welcome our new therapist: Emily Gewax. As a counselor and art therapist, Emily works with individuals from the perspective of honoring the whole body, mind and spirit. She has had the opportunity to work with children and adolescents in a variety of different educational, mental health and community-based organizations. In 2016, she received her 200-hour yoga teacher training and frequently integrates mindfulness and somatic-focused practices into her work with individuals and groups. Her approach to working with individuals and families is multimodal; creatively engaged, trauma informed, strength-based, culturally aware, and focused on the unique needs of each client.
Beyond the therapy space, she loves spending time outside - especially on the water, working with clay, spending time with friends and family (and her cat, Phoebe), gardening and foraging for mushrooms.
